Frequently asked questions
The time you spend working on-campus is not deducted from the amount of time you are allowed for other types of work, such as F-1 Optional Practical Training or J-1 Academic Training, and does not need to be related to your field of study.
F-1 regulations do not prohibit a student from working on-campus while also participating in a CPT authorized off-campus internship. Keep in mind that study must be the primary activity for the F-1 visa. In the future, USCIS may consider that your work activities took priority over your studies, and this could negatively impact any immigration benefit requests from the U.S. such as OPT or H-1B.

Yes, you have 90 days to provide your number through your Sprintax Calculus account. If you have applied but have not received your card by then, a copy of the application receipt must be provided to International Employee Management to prevent termination.
Federal tax withholding elections will be completed and updated through your Sprintax Calculus account. State withholding elections are completed through Workday. Instructions can be found in Workday under ‘Work Instructions and Information.’
