Ethical considerations

Maintain data privacy by never including your name or any other personal identifying information when submitting documents for review.

If you are feeding AI your resume and cover letter to review, remove your name and contact information first.

Do not blindly accept the suggestions from AI Tools. Decide which information and edits are appropriate. Edit as needed to make sure that the tone matches your own.

Verify the suggestions as AI does not always pull from authoritative sources, and therefore may provide inaccurate information. There are also limitations on relevancy and how recent the content may be.

Do not ask AI to create full content for you, such as resumes or cover letters. Always start with your own content, and ask for reviews and suggestions.

Be mindful that AI should not be used to create application materials. AI text does not count as your own original writing.

It may be tempting to let AI tools add numbers or results to your resume, but using untrue or inflated details is unethical. Employers expect honesty, and including inaccurate statistics or achievements can damage your credibility and reputation.

Always ensure that your resume accurately reflects your real skills and experiences.
